Happy International Wetlands Day!

[Originally posted 2 February 2026] 2 February marks the 1971 adoption of the Convention on Wetlands in Ramsar, Iran. I have begun and ended many days in this riparian wetland in my kayak. It is a very peaceful place in the warm summer months with full foliage. I once filmed an online Environmental Law lecture using a GoPro while kayaking in this wetland. It resulted in a very cool effect while I discussed the USA Clean Water Act (CWA). The Vessel General Permit (VGP) is a CWA permit.
